Tunngasugit! Welcome!
Discover the George River Plateau, the Ungava Coast and the valley of the Koroc River by snowmobile along traditional Inuit travel routes. Or by snowshoe, experience the wind as it sweeps across these amazing landscapes. Snowshoe ascents in this territory are of the most exhilarating kind: tumultuous one moment and filled with silence the next. Plan to do one ascent daily, during daylight hours, that will take not less than four hours. Inuit have used rivers as travel routes since the beginning of time. They have given names to the hills, the mountains, the streams and the sites associated with their activities, wildlife, dangers and other important characteristics. Breath deeply… absorb the spirit of this region.

(In the North, the weather can change suddenly. This itinerary may therefore be adjusted according to current conditions. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations are pre-requisites.)
Departure from Montreal to Kuujjuaq, where you will be met by Inuit Adventures staff member. Transfer towards your final destination of Kangiqsualujjuaq (45-minute flight), where you will be welcomed by the park staff. *During a group dinner (four courses and wine), meet your expedition leader and Inuit guide and learn more details about your planned expedition, before having an opportunity to explore the community of Kangiqsualujjuaq. Your evening is free to relax, breath in the pure northern air, and get to know your travel companions. Kangiqsualujjuaq is nestled next to the George River, only 25 kilometres from Ungava Bay.

Departure from Kangiqsualujjuaq by snowmobile aboard a comfortable qamutiq (large sled with lined seating and a removable cover to protect against the cold) offering a 360-degree view of the surroundings. Your trip to Nunavik takes place at one of the best times of the year to experience Northern Lights, arsaniit in Inuktitut. They flow across the sky in waves of green, and sometimes red and purple. From the outset of your expedition, your guides will set nets in a spot where fish are abundant. You will follow the André-Grenier River and explore by snowshoe one or two peaks overlooking the Nachvak Fjord (450 metres). Observe closely your Inuit guides as they incessantly scan the land for wildlife. The types and number of encounters are different for each park visit. By snowshoe, you may follow the tracks of a few caribou, sight an arctic fox or admire some ptarmigan. The valley of the Koroc River is well known as an occasional migratory route for polar bear; you may be lucky enough to observe one! Be prepared to live your expedition at an Arctic pace. Whether in the sectors of Mount Haywood (732 metres), the Palmer River or the Qamanikuluk River, your guides will propose the best itinerary for your safety and to make your expedition the most memorable.
