ITINERARY
Day 1: Departure for Qurlutuarjuq Camp
Prior your departure, the group will meet for the final preparations and information session with your guides. By snowmobile, you will travel to Qurlutuarjuq camp, 100 km from Kangiqsualujjuaq. Frequent stops are planned along the route (about every 20 km) for tea, to observe key scenery and learn the Inuktitut names for the nearby mountains! Observe your guides as they keep a close eye on the land for wildlife. The quantity and species of animals encountered varies depending on the expedition. You will be deciding if you wish to ski the last 15 or 20 km to the camp. The route follows the Koroc River and the terrain is relatively flat. This first day of the expedition will allow you to validate your physical fitness for the north (cold temperatures, off-trail, no shelter from the wind, etc.).



• Meals: lunch en route (soup, crackers, wraps or sandwiches, bannock) (expedition foodstuffs carried in your backpacks) / supper at the Qurlutuarjuq camp (sausages, cheese, chicken, steak, fish, rice and vegetables).

Days 2 and 3: Exploring the Qurlutuarjuq Falls Sector
You will spend the next two days in the magnificent Qurlutuarjuq Falls sector. Activities will include exploration of the sector by skis or snowshoes. Be prepared for an arctic experience. From the Mount Haywood (732 m) sector, to the descent of the Naksarulak Creek or the nearby sacred Naskapi Caribou Heaven site, your guides will propose excursions to allow you to take full advantage of your cross-country adventure.



• Meals: Continental-type breakfast at the Qurlutuarjuq camp (coffee, tea, cheese, cereal, toast, granola, fruit) / lunch onsite (soup, crackers, wraps or sandwiches, bannock) (expedition foodstuffs carried in your backpacks) / supper at the Qurlutuarjuq camp (sausages, cheese, chicken, steak, fish, rice and vegetables).
• Accommodations: Qurlutuarjuq camp
Day 4: Traditional Camp in the Palmer River Sector
Departure by snowmobile for the Palmer River sector (1 hour) and the spectacular Napaartuit Isua site on the Koroc River. You will learn how to set up of traditional Inuit tents (tuppiks). The up-river excursion to the Quvviliuliniujaaluk sector is marking the gateway to the majestic Torngat Mountains. You will be able to explore by skis or snowshoes of the steeper slopes of the Palmer River.


• Meals : Breakfast at the Qurlutuarjuq camp (coffee, tea, cereal, porridge, scrambled eggs, fruit, toast) / lunch onsite (wraps, bannock, soup, sandwiches, crackers, cheese, sausages, salads, hot chocolate) (expedition foodstuffs carried in your backpacks) / supper prepared by your guides (lasagna, meat pies, pasta, prepared meat or fish) at the Napaartuit Isua site.
• Accommodations: Tent camping at the Napaartuit Isua site.
Day 5: Qamanialuk Camp
Return trip along the Koroc River towards the Qamanialuk camp, in a cosy forested setting (60 km). Visitors may decide to ski the last 15 or 20 km along the river to the camp. For safety, guides will monitor (lead and tail snowmobiles) the excursion. The forested Qamanialuk camp is ready to receive winter-experience seekers; tents will already be set up. All camping equipment is provided. Downhill skiing may also be organized.


• Meals: Breakfast at the Napaartuit Isua site (coffee, tea, cereal, porridge, scrambled eggs, fruit, toast) / lunch onsite (wraps, bannock, soup, sandwiches, crackers, cheese, sausages, salads, hot chocolate) (expedition foodstuffs carried in your backpacks) / supper prepared by your guides (lasagna, meat pies, pasta, prepared meat or fish).
• Accommodations: Shelter design at the Qamanialuk camp.
Day 6 : Panoramic return trip to the community
Return trip by snowmobile to Kangiqsualujjuaq (4 hours) with frequent stops at scenic spots along the river. In Kangiqsualujjuaq, you will have time for a visit of the park's pavillion exihibit room to remember what you saw and learn during your trip before saying goodbyes.

• Meals: Breakfast at the Qamanialuk camp / lunch at the park pavilion or en route

Au Nunavik, la météo change constamment. L'expédition peut donc être modifiée en tout temps en fonction des conditions météorologiques du moment. Il est important de venir nous rencontrer avec un esprit flexible, capable de s'adapter à de nouvelles situations. La flexibilité et l'habilité du voyageur à s'adapter à ces éventuels changements de plans ou d'horaires sont des prérequis essentiels aux expéditions dans les parcs du Nunavik et font partie du caractère authentique de votre expérience nordique. En résumé, cette expédition d'exception suppose un état d'esprit exceptionnel. Plus précisément, elle suppose la solidarité, une grande capacité d'adaptation et le strict respect des règles de sécurité. Ce séjour implique donc de votre part l'acceptation d'une dose d'aventure et d'imprévus. Sécurité
Toutes les expéditions encadrées par l'équipe du parc national Kuururjuaq peuvent être suivies au jour le jour grâce à un positionnement satellite quotidien. L'équipe peut joindre le personnel du parc à tout moment avec un téléphone satellite. Les visiteurs des parcs du Nunavik doivent assumer une part de leur propre sécurité: une préparation et des assurances adéquates en font partie.
