Departures are possible from the Northern villages of Kuujjuaq or Kangiqsualujjuaq. If you live in a community on the Ungava coast, please contact us to see if connections are possible.
Spend three days exploring the iconic Qurlutuarjuq Falls area in the Koroc River Valley. The area around Camp Qurlutuarjuq offers superb hiking opportunities, whether guided or self-guided, to enjoy the unique mountain scenery.
What's included ?
Weekends include flights (from Kuujjuaq or Kangiqsualujjuaq) to the rustic Camp Qurlutuarjuq, two nights’ accommodation at the Camp, two dinners (only for weekends in Kuururjuaq), and the on-site services of our guides.
Breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are not included. Camp Qurlutuarjuq is fully equipped for meal preparation (refrigerator, oven and cooking equipment).
What is there to do once there ?
On weekends, your guides will provide you with the best advice on what to do, depending on weather conditions and your level of experience.
HIKING
Several hikes are possible from Camp Qurlutuarjuq. Since trails are rare in the Park, visitors must plan their routes carefully. With the help of maps, compasses, and GPS, it’s easy to find your way around this vast territory. The team will recommend different route lengths to suit your interests, ranging from 5 km to 24 km. Stay safe and don’t underestimate the terrain in remote areas!
FISHING
As the Koroc River is traditionally used by Inuit for subsistence fishing, Park management and the Qiniqtiq Landholding Corporation of Kangiqsualujjuaq have decided to prohibit non-beneficiaries from fishing in the Qurlutuarjuq area. We are counting on your understanding to continue preserving and protecting our territory.
How do I make a reservation?
Weekend reservations can be made as of May 15 at 9 a.m. You can reach the Park at 819-337-5454. Reservations will be taken by telephone only, and a maximum of two places will be reserved per call. As we usually receive a large number of calls, the line may be busy! Our team will get back to you as soon as possible!
Accommodation
The camp includes two private bedrooms (with a single bed and a double bunk bed), a dormitory area with five bunk beds, two outdoor dry toilets and a cooking and relaxation area with a diesel-powered stove. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, oven and propane stove, as well as tables and chairs. Most of the equipment is solar-powered.
The serviced Qurlutuarjuq area camp is located some 240 metres from the Koroc River. There’s a camping area with platforms, dry toilets, an outdoor shower with solar bag, and a boat ramp. There’s no running water (neither for washing up nor for toilets), but your guides will keep you supplied with fresh water.
Camp toilets are dry toilets outside the building.
