What Is Nunavik Parks Beneficiary Access Initiative ?
Since 2017, in order to promote greater access to the Parks, Nunavik Parks is offering financial support to James-Bay Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) beneficiaries.
Regardless of their home community in Nunavik, the Nunavik Parks
Beneficiary Access Initiative (NPBAI) aims to reduce the barriers to go
to the Parks. The NPBAI is built upon two main components: reducing
fees and transportation costs.
How Does Nunavik Parks Beneficiary Access Initiative Work?
Under
its first component, JBNQA beneficiaries receive a 75% reduction on the
cost of activities and services delivered by Nunavik Parks. This
component is on top of the free park access enjoyed by JBNQA
beneficiaries in accordance with the Quebec Parks Act.
The
second component of the NPBAI facilitates travel to the parks. If you
are eligible and the funds available, the NPBAI will provide
reimbursement 75% of related air travel costs.
If you are a single visitor or coming with a group : friends, family, students, elders or any JBNQA beneficiary interested in travelling to a national park in Nunavik, you may apply to the program. To do so, download the file English or French.
