Departures are possible from the Northern villages of Kuujjuaq or Kangiqsujuaq. If you live in a community on the Ungava coast, please contact us to see if connections are possible.
You will have three days to explore the iconic Pingualuit crater and its distinctive panoramas. The area is perfect for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, or for motorboat tours on Manarsulik lake. Enjoy the unique landscapes of Nunavik Parks’ northernmost park.
What's included ?
Weekends include flights (from Kuujjuaq or Kangiqsujuaq) to rustic Camp Manarsulik, two nights at the Camp, and the on-site services of our guides.
Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks are not included. Camp Manarsulik is fully equipped for meal preparation (refrigerator, oven and cooking equipment).
What is there to do once there?
On weekends, your guides will provide you with the best advice on what to do, depending on weather conditions and your level of experience.
HIKING
You can set off to climb the ridges of the iconic Pingualuit crater. You’ll have a breathtaking view of the horizon, which seems to stretch on forever. Your eyes will be drawn to the near-perfect circle of this 1.4-million-year-old crater. You can choose to walk from the camp to the crater (5 km round trip), down to the water (2.5 km round trip) or all the way around (18 km round trip to the camp). For an easier, more accessible hike, you can also visit the shores of Manarsulik Lake. Whichever option you choose, be aware that the trails are undeveloped and made up of rocks that are often loose and sometimes slippery. We recommend that you exercise caution and use walking sticks. Do not forget your day pack with snacks, water, etc.

FISHING
For non-beneficiaries who would like to fish, make sure you have your provincial fishing licence with you prior to contacting the Park to obtain your Park permit. You must bring you own fishing gear. All catches must be consumed on site (maximum 3), except for a single catch which may be taken out of the Park. IMPORTANT: Fishing or swimming in Pingualuk Lake (crater) is strictly prohibited as it is an extreme preservation area.
CANOE AND KAYAKING
You can borrow Park boats and life jackets to explore the area surrounding Manarsulik Lake.

How do I make a reservation?
Weekend reservations can be made as of May 15 at 9 a.m. Reservations will be taken by telephone only, and a maximum of two places will be reserved per call. You can reach the Park at 819-338-3282. As we usually receive a large number of calls, the line may be busy! Our team will get back to you as soon as possible!
Accommodation
Camp Manarsulik has three buildings on the shores of the lake of the same name. The two camps for visitors each have four bedrooms with bunk beds, a living room, and a bathroom with dry toilets managed by our guides. The main camp has a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
There is running water for drinking and washing up. Before leaving home, we recommend that you contact our staff to check whether the services and equipment you need are available.
